Actors Who Took Props From Set

Thief In The Night

It’s always hilarious to hear about actors who have taken things from a film or TV set, often in secret and without permission. In fact, so many celebrities have done this that it’s hard to keep track! But don’t worry, we’ve assembled a list for your reading ease.

Danielle Radcliffe

He might look sweet in The Philosopher’s Stone, but that isn’t all to this actor. Radcliffe rose to fame because of the Harry Potter series, and took the glasses from set to prove it!

Chris Hemsworth

Our favorite musclebound Norse God is famous for his hammer and his golden locks. While his hair was attached to his head, the hammer wasn’t. Hemsworth has taken five distinct versions of Thor’s prop hammer during his time playing the character!

Maisie Williams

Her character in Game Of Thrones, Arya, is a bit of a spitfire and an outspoken young woman. Maisie must have had some of that in her when she left set with the brown leather jacket her character wore during filming.

Bryan Cranston

Cranston starred as the lead in Breaking Bad, a high-stress series that pop culture won’t forget anytime soon. And he won’t forget it either, since he took home Walter White’s glasses and the original Heisenberg hat.

Aaron Paul

Bryan Cranston’s co-star, who played an equally distinct role in the series, left the set with quite the unique item. He took Gus Fring’s blown-off head home with him. Now that’s a talking piece!

Sandra Oh

In Grey’s Anatomy, Oh’s character Christina and her husband Owen share an apartment together. Oh liked the apartment’s rug so much that she took it home to add a little something to her own living room!

Will Farrell

Known for playing quite the wide array of characters, Will Farrell’s home must be a capsule of all his various roles and appearances. Two of these would be the prosthetic testicles from the film Step Brothers, and Ron Burgundy’s Channel Four News ring from Anchorman.

Daisy Ridley

It’s not every day you get cast in a new Star Wars series. So it makes sense that Ridley would want to commemorate this event by taking home the ring she wore as “Dark Rey”, in addition to being gifted a lightsaber.

Adam Driver

Another co-star heist, Driver was also gifted a lightsaber. But like Daisy Ridley, he wanted a little more to show for all his efforts: the Kylo Ren costume. What a great outfit to have on hand for Halloween!

Julie Andrews

The Mary Poppins star has quite the significant filmography to her name. But Mary Poppins must have a special place in her heart, as she took home a pair of shoes and now uses them as doorstops at home.

Chadwick Boseman

Some items that stars take are small, and they would get missed easily on set. One of these was the Kimoyo bead bracelet Boseman wore on the set of Black Panther. He continued to wear it even when filming was over!

Ryan Reynolds

Reynolds and Deadpool seem to share a cheeky personality. And after the success of the first film, you wouldn’t blame Reynolds for taking home the Deadpool suit as a keepsake.

John Stamos

Full House brought many viewers a full heart. But for John Stamos, it also brought him a great couch. I wonder if they needed it back for the reboot!

Reece Witherspoon

Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, And Blonde was a dazzling sequel, and I’m only talking about the outfits! After the first film demonstrated the sheer quality of the costume department, Witherspoon had it written into her contract that she could take home the entire wardrobe from the sequel.

Chris Pratt

While he’s taken a turn for the noble, Chris Pratt still has a mischievous streak to him. Though, it was still for a good cause. He stole the classic leather jacket he wore while playing Star Lord and dressed in costume to visit a children’s hospital.

Rupert Grint

While Daniel Radcliffe got Harry’s glasses, Grint got substantially larger mementos from the set: the flying car, Privet Drive’s house number, and the gold dragon egg from the fourth film. I hope there was no jealousy between the two!

Kristen Stewart

After the Twilight Saga, Stewart and the rest of the cast were propelled into the spotlight for years after the film’s release. But she also got Bella Swan’s engagement ring in addition to many more film deals.

Sir Ian McKellen

This famous wizard is more than a lord. He’s also the proud owner of Bag End’s house key from The Lord Of The Rings and a small collection of gold coins from The Hobbit. Not a bad haul for Sir McKellen.

Jennifer Aniston

Friends provided a haven for many viewers during its run-time, and has even found a resurgence in the era of streaming. But for Jennifer Aniston, having the neon coffee cup sign from Central Perk meant it was never forgotten.

Matt LeBlanc

LeBlanc has always been sentimental about his time on Friends. So much so, that he even stole the whiteboard in Joey and Chandler’s apartment to give to a crew member. Don’t worry, he also pocketed a ball from the foosball table for himself.

Ralph Macchio

The Karate Kid became an iconic martial arts film, even earning itself a spin-off years later. Ralph Macchio keeps the original in mind, since he kept the 1947 Ford from one of the famous scenes in the film.

Norman Reedus

This was another for the atypical memento list. From The Walking Dead set, Reedus took home Rick’s bear clippings. Reportedly, he preserves them in his fridge. Careful not to grab those instead of the milk!

Gabrielle Union

The film Bring It On meant a lot to many viewers, as it did for the actors. Gabrielle Union took home her uniform to preserve that time in her life.

Anya Taylor-Joy

Queen’s Gambit launched Taylor-Joy’s career into the spotlight, drawing TV and chess fans alike. While most of us took home a new interest in the strategy game, Taylor-Joy took home the entire wardrobe for her character.

Jennifer Lawrence

The Hunger Games shook young North American audiences to the core, and it has left a lasting impact on us today. It also left a huge impact on Lawrence, who took home Katniss’ boots and jacket as a sentimental keepsake.

Tracy Morgan

Usually, people wouldn’t see a fish tank on set and say, “That’s what I want to take home.” But that didn’t stop Morgan from doing that exact thing.

Sarah Jessica Parker

There’s something in the water with these costume designers. Parker left the set of Sex And The City with the vast majority of her character’s wardrobe. Bet she didn’t need to go shopping for a while!

John Krasinski

The Office holds a special place in many people’s hearts. After many seasons, both viewers and actors were attached to the characters and the stories they told. To commemorate this, Krasinski took home the teapot Jim gifted Sam early in the series.

Fischer got away with a slightly more expensive memento. She took home the famous hair clip she wore during the series. Oh, and Pam’s engagement ring!

Sean Astin

Before he was Samwise Gamgee, Sean Astin starred in The Goonies. He even took home One-Eyed Willy’s treasure map! But, to our great misfortune, his mom misplaced it.

Adam Scott

Another long-standing series, Parks And Rec is a classic show for many. Adam Scott might agree, since he took home Ben Wyatt’s office nameplate from the set!

Jake Johnson

In another wardrobe win, and subsequent loss, Jake Johnson loved the jeans he wore while playing Nick Miller so much that he took them all with him once the show ended. What a way to end it!

Vanessa Hudgens

Speaking to many young women’s hearts, High School Musical will be a rewatch for many. For Hudgens, it was the start of a great career. So it makes sense she’d want to commemorate it by taking home the “T” necklace (T as in Troy).

Zac Efron

He was a well-known face in the early Aughts, and featured in many films and series at the time. Efron took home the Wildcats jersey from High School Musical, and from his time on Hairspray, he took home Link Larkin’s belt, which he reportedly still wears!

Dakota Johnson

Johnson starred as the leading lady in Fifty Shades Of Grey, a raunchy romance that left a lot of people spiced up. It only makes sense that she’d take home a bunch of her character’s underwear!

Catherine O’Hara

A fantastic touch by O’Hara, in addition to coining the pronunciation of “bébés,” the actress took home Moira’s wigs after her time on Schitt’s Creek came to an end.

Joshua Radnor

Speaking of TV series that reshaped the television landscape, How I Met Your Mother will perpetually remain in the minds of those who watched during its heyday. For Joshua Radnor, he’ll always remember his time on the show whenever he looks at the blue French horn he snagged from set.

Robert Downey Jr

Known for making quite the statement, both on screen as Iron Man and off, Downey took home the Avengers “A” from Stark Tower. That’s a pretty big sign that he enjoyed the project!
