Peeking Around The Corner

How much stranger will Stranger Things get? And what startling lessons will we learn from Star Trek: Starfleet Academy? Only time (or teasers) will tell, so let’s see what’s new and what’s renewed for 2025

The Hunting Party (Season 1)

Created by JJ Bailey, the show will star Melissa Roxburgh (from Manifest), Nick Wechsler, and Josh McKenzie, and debut as a midseason replacement whenever it’s supposed to. Watch it on NBC and the usual streaming suspects.

Stranger Things (Season 5)

It was a gatecrashing kind of end to the last season, as mortal threats to Hawkins, Indiana, just seem to keep on coming. But you’ll have to wait pretty late into 2025 (if you’re lucky) for Netflix to unleash the fury that this next season is sure to be.

The Tsunami Factor

The Hollywood strikes of 2023 and the trends that sparked them have had a giant ripple effect on productions and those who make them. It’s a chaotic, uncertain time in TV Land, but as studios ramp up productions, maybe we’ll at least have some sort of bumper crop in 2025.

A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight (Season 1)

In this prequel to Game Of Thrones, Dunk and his loyal squire Egg wander through Westeros and bump into lots of dragons. This third GOT show is expected to debut on HBO and Max near the end of 2025—but many fans are worried the show will make the same catastrophic mistake as House of the Dragon.

While season 1 of House of the Dragon received high praise from fans and author George RR Martin, season 2 didn’t fare nearly as well. Apparently, Season 2 deviated too much from the source material and the unnecessary changes made for a narrative that many fans called boring and nonsensical. So far, it seems like the folks behind, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms are staying true to Martin’s novellas—hopefully, it stays that way.
